Possibility Of Election Through Kothrud, Pune Constituency
The State elections of Maharashtra are set to initiate on 21st
October and therefore, all political parties are in their final stages of
election preparations at the moment. The BJP too recently completed its
Mahajanadesh Yatra and many other strategies are being implemented by them, as
we speak of it. For instance, just yesterday, they played another masterstroke
with the news that the Honourable BJP Chief- Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil is well
set to get elected at the Kothrud constituency in Pune. All media channels
including print media and social media gave a whole lot of significance to this
news due to several reasons.
Earlier there was a discussion that Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil will choose Kolhapur constituency for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election. However, during the 11th hour, the BJP chose the more secure Kothrud area for his election purpose. The NCP President Mr Sharad Pawar had criticized Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil in the past for not being elected as a people’s representative and had placed an appeal before him to get selected through public elections. Now, Mr Chandrakant Patil has addressed this criticism and answered back in the most appropriate manner. It is being expected that he will become the MLA of the Kothrud region, which is considered to be the bastion of BJP in Pune city.
Another controversial news that came out alongside this is that the present MLA of Kothrud-Mrs Medha Kulkarni has been upset with BJP’s said decision, which is why she also had a meeting with the Honourable Chandrakant Dada Patil. After this meeting, Mr Chandrakant Patil informed that Mrs Medha Kulkarni has promised to assure great victory for Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil in the region. The very fact that the BJP Chief has selected the Kothrud, Pune constituency which has been identifiedwith the outstanding work of Mrs Medha Kulkarni during her tenure, happens to
be an acknowledgementfor the latter.
Putting any speculations of disturbance between the two to rest, Mr Chandrakant Patil said that any elected candidate works for a tenure of 5 years, after that duration if any decision is taken against him or her it is pretty obvious for them tofeel frustrated. Everyone well understands this as a human being, but it is not necessary that this person will oppose the principles and the collective cause of the party. In this way, Shri Dada Patil has justified Mrs Medha Kulkarni’s vexation and he has his hopes high on receiving full support from her in the upcoming election campaign.
Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil’s political career graph has only shined even more and progressed with
time. He has been a dedicated worker of the ABVP for many years, after which he joined the BJP. In 2014, he was included in the Maharashtra State Cabinet as the Minister of multiple departments. During the last five years of his tenure, he has also collectively handled the responsibility of Pune, Kolhapur and Jalgaon districts as their Guardian Minister. He was elected through the graduation constituency and now will be the part of the election process through Kothrud, Pune constituency. His role during the Lok Sabha election was highly significant and accordingly, people’s expectations have increased from him, as far as the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections are concerned. His appointment as the Guardian Minister of Pune district was also an importantpart of BJP's election strategy. Now, only time will decide how many of these election strategies prove beneficial for the BJP.
